Young people in the district are being given the chance to see their work on display by participating in a poster competition organised by the Harborough branch of the Royal British Legion.
The theme of this year’s poster competition is “the Royal British Legion and its Work”.
This can be based around one or all of the four core activities of the legion: remembrance, health and welfare, comradeship and representation.
There will be five classes: ages five to seven, eight to 11, 12 to 14 and 15 to 18. There will also be an open age class.
A prize will be awarded to the winner of each category and the posters will then be displayed around district shops around the time of the Poppy Appeal.
The closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday, October 25. To enter, send your poster to RBL Poster Competition, 5 Manor Road, Fleckney, LE8 8TN, or hand it in to the Mail office at 9 Northampton Road, Harborough.
The name, address and age of the artist must be included and in classes one to three it should be countersigned by a parent or teacher to authenticate the work.
