A greyhound has been destroyed after it attacked two people in Market Harborough, including a six-year-old girl.
Police officers said that on Tuesday, September 3, the dog attacked an 18-year-old woman and a six-year-old girl in two separate incidents around the Fairfax Road area of town.
Both victims were treated for their injuries, which were described by the police as minor, at Harborough’s Cottage Hospital in Coventry Road.
The owner of the dog was tracked down by police and officers went to the owner’s house.
The Leicestershire Police press office told the Mail the dog owner had already booked the dog into a veterinary centre to be put down after the attacks,
The dog has since been destroyed.
