Fair’s 1940s-style tea room was a big hit

The St Hughs and St Nicholas fair

The St Hughs and St Nicholas fair

The sun shone when St Nicholas and St Hugh’s churches in Harborough held their combined annual June fair on the Little Bowden village green on Saturday.

The community turned out to support the event and the green was alive with people milling around the stalls, taking part in traditional games and joining in with some of the wacky races.

One of the popular features was its 1940s-style tea room, pictured above, which was called Bowdens’ Popular Cafe for the day and served hot beverages and cakes non-stop throughout the afternoon.

The Harborough Training Band also played during the event.

About £3,500 was raised and a big thank you was extended to the day’s supporters.
