Fire service free trapped person after HGV overturns

Firefighters were called to the scene of a crash on Good Friday after a lorry overturned on the outskirts of Medbourne.

Fire crews from Uppingham and Harborough attended Medbourne Road just before 9am, said the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service daily report log.

A Heavy Goods Vehicle had overturned with one person trapped inside, who was released by firefighters before being taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary by ambulance.

Fire crews then made the vehicle safe

Three fire service vehicles attended.

On the Market Harborough Fire Station Facebook page it said: “Friday, April 18, Harborough fire crews were called to an overturned HGV outside of Medbourne just before 9am.

“Fire Rescue removed windowscreen and helped extricate the casualty. The incident was left with East Midlands Ambulance Service and the police.”

They also posted a picture of the crash scene which showed the lorry on its side.
