A university graduate is fundraising for a volunteering trip to Africa.
Louise Heaton (21) of Harborough, is off to Malawi in January to teach at a small school through the Lattitude volunteer charity.
The reading University graduate is trying to raise £4,000 toward the cost of the trip.
Her fundraising efforts so far have included running her first half-marathon - Run to the Beat in Greenwich - which raised £1,000 toward her total.
Louise said: “Despite the many aches and pains that came after I was very proud of myself for completing it, particularly as I was up against some pretty steep inclines with injured knees.
“I have a few other ideas to try and reach that total target, so over the next few months I think my time will be filled with plenty of car boot sales, super market bag packing and the odd bake sale.”
