Good causes are being invited to bid for a share of the funds from the annual Rotary Club of Market Harborough SwiMarathon.
The event, staged at Harborough Leisure Centre last month, saw nearly 200 people take the plunge for the sponsored fun swim for teams.
Each team swam in a relay for one hour in one lane to raise money.
Enough was raised for the club to be able to donate about £7,000 to local and Rotary charities, community organisations and worthy causes.
Rotarian Chris Etherington, who is chairman of the SwiMarathon team, said: “We are particularly pleased that we are able to offer so much money to local worthy causes, after an event which so many swimmers really enjoyed.”
You are invited to apply for a grant for your worthy cause by sending an application. You must give the name of your organisation, your name and contact address, phone and email.
Applications must provide details of how you will spend the money and when, and there must be a local connection. You should also give the name to go on the grant cheque if successful and the maximum grant will be £500.
Applications should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or sent to The Rotary Swimarathon, c/o 74 Burnmill Road, Market Harborough, LE16 7JG by noon on Monday, May 22.
Successful applicants will be told in the first week of June. The grants will be presented at a SwiMarathon Presentation Evening at the Robert Smyth School, on Monday, June 16.
Because the SwiMarathon was so successful, and so enjoyable, the Rotary Club is already planning another SwiMarathon for 2015.
