A woman is taking on the Leicester half-marathon this weekend to raise awareness about a disease that claimed the life of her father earlier this year.
Claire Rice, of Harborough, is running the course, which starts at Victoria Park in Leicester, to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and to raise awareness about the disease. She will be taking part with her friend Fran Harrison.
Claire decided to take part for the charity after the death of her dad David Newman in August. She has been training hard alongside pal Fran and they are hoping to raise £500 for the charity and would be grateful for any donations.
Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men.
