People are being reminded to lock up before going to bed following two burglaries in Clipston.
Burglars stole cash, a purse and a mobile phone from a home in Naseby Road after getting in through an unlocked front door.
The same night they stole a bag from a house in Harborough Road after getting in through the back door, which had also been left unlocked.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the break-ins, which happened in the early hours of last Friday morning, to phone them on 101.
DC Stewart Colville said: ““Many burglars are opportunists - they will take advantage of an unlocked door or window.
“It may seem obvious advice but it’s important to get into the habit of locking all doors and making sure all windows are secure every time you go out and when you go to bed.
“Items that can be stolen easily, such as keys, wallets and phones, should be kept in a safe place, out of sight and away from windows and doors.”
