Firefighters are going on strike for five hours this Saturday evening.
The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has called the five-hour strike from 6.30pm to 11.30pm in a row over pensions.
It is the second time strike action has been called in recent weeks. Firefuighters held a four hour strike last month.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has said it will continue to provide a fire and rescue response cover – though on a reduced scale.
Assistant Chief Fire and Rescue Officer Steve Lunn said: “The advice we have issued will inform residents and businesses of the simple steps they can take to increase the safety of their homes and places of work when strike action is taking place. In addition, we would urge drivers to take extra care while they are out on the roads during this time.
“Whilst any strike action is under way, our contingency plans will ensure that you will continue to receive an emergency response from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service with the reduced resources we will have during these periods.”
