CHEQUES are being posted to the successful applicants for this year Harborough Carnival grants.
The annual event in June attracted big crowds, although numbers were slightly down due to it being in the midst of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
The Harborough Carnival Committee met at The Angel Hotel in Harborough last month to discuss who should receive grants from the surplus cash gained. Groups had been invited to apply through the Mail.
Winners of £60 grants were Harborough in Bloom, Harborough District Diabetes Clu, Harborough Churches Football Club, Harborough & District MIND, Market Harborough Orchestra, Harborough Town Rebels U10 Football Club, Harborough Training Band, Harborough Youth & Community Trust, 1st Little Bowden Brownies, Little Bowden Community Garden, Little Bowden Primary School, 1st Little Bowden Rainbows, Loros, Market Harborough & District Community Vehicle, Market Harborough Musical Theatre, Market Harborough Sea Cadets, Gartree Prison Fellowship, Shopmobility, Stoke Albany Village Hall Committee, VISTA (Blind), Market Harborough Welcome Club and Welford WI (Counting).
The total fund was £3,805. Anyone who would like to help the committee can email John Bush on email@example.com.
