Firefighters were called out to deal with the incident in Harborough town centre

Firefighters were called out to a park in Harborough last night after troublemakers started a small fire deliberately.

A fire crew from the Harborough station was called to Burford Green, off Western Avenue, at about 9.15pm last night.

However the grass set alight was out on arrival by the time they arrived, said the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service daily report log.

It is the second time in a week that young arsonists have started fires on parks in the Harborough district.

Firefighters from Kibworth and Harborough were called to the skatepark off Warwick Road, Kibworth, last Thursday after yobs set fire to a scooter.
