Aspiring young cooks from Harborough took part in a fun cookery competition as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.

The leader of Harborough District Council Cllr Blake Pain presented the winners with certificates and awards during a prize-giving ceremony at Harborough’s Welland Park Academy last Thursday.

The theme for this year’s annual schools’ competition, now in its sixth year, was bananas, which meant students had to make banana-based dishes. The Sainsbury’s supermarket in Harborough kindly provided most of the bananas.
