Champs so keen to claim title again

REIGNING champions Clipston retained top spot in the Market Harborough and District Evening Cricket League last week with a win at Medbourne.

Clipston hit a respectable 141 before dismissing the home side for 92.

Laughton and Mowsley hosted second-placed Kibworth and were dismissed for 90, with Warrington (14) and Holland (13) making double figures.

For Kibworth, Cuthbert bowled impressively, capturing 5 wickets for 2 runs in his three overs. Kibworth reached the target in the tenth over for the loss of three wickets.

Langtons kept in touch with the leaders by beating bottom side Bowden. Langtons amassed 158 for 2 but then bowled their opponents out for just 58.

Nevill Holt recorded their second win of the season, overcoming visitors Husbands Bosworth by 15 runs.

Nevill Holt hit 113, before restricting Bosworth to 98 for 7.
