A POTENTIAL banana skin of a fixture was survived by Lutterworth Athletic as they stayed on course for league honours.
A Chris Bradshaw headed goal from a Mark English corner was all that separated the two sides in a close encounter at Kirby.
With rivals Rothley and Aylestone both winning, it was three more invaluable points for the Lutterworth side.
Athletic entertain Loughborough at Hall Park this Saturday before meeting up with Oadby Town on Tuesday (7pm) in the semi-finals of the County Cup at Holmes Park, Whetstone. Both sides are going well and have met already in the FA Vase, with Oadby securing a 2-1 win.
On Wednesday the Athletic youth team take on Allexton New parks in the semi-finals of their county cup competition. Kick-off is at 7.15pm at Blaby and Whetstone.
Athletic reserves stayed top of their league table courtesy of a 3-1 home victory over Sileby Town reserves on Saturday.
