Rugby club's Indian summer

AN INDIAN-themed summer ball is being organised by Harborough Rugby Club for this June.

It will be the Northampton Road club's fifth charity ball, which are held every other year, and it will see Indian-inspired activities held under a marquee at the club grounds on Saturday, June 19.

The evening will raise funds for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and for general club funds.

Highlights will include traditional Indian entertainment, a three-course Indian meal, two bands, a DJ and midnight snacks. There will also be a prize draw on the night and a fabulous auction where guests can bid for the use of a luxury ski-chalet, situated between Morzine and Les Gets, on the exclusive Route des Ys in France.

Gavin Blythe, from the club, said: "We are delighted to be raising funds for the air ambulance, a charity that has provided vital emergency support and touched the lives of many of our players.

"Back by popular demand, our Indian summer ball looks set to be a night to remember, tickets are already selling really fast however so I would urge anybody wanting to book tickets to do so as soon as possible."
