Teachers invited to free symposium - and free England U20s rugby tickets
Franklins Gardens
Teachers and other education professionals across Northamptonshire and Leicestershire are being invited to a free day of learning and rugby being organised by networking specialists Netgear and Premiership rugby club Northampton Saints.
The event, on Friday, March 8, will start with a free-to-attend IT in Education Symposium, where education professionals can get advice on creating new opportunities for learning through technology, and will be followed by an evening of international rugby as England’s under-20s side take on Italy in the Six Nations at Franklin’s Gardens.
Between 12pm and 6pm, Netgear, along with its partners Misco and Capita.ITC, will host the free symposium aimed at local education professionals.
In addition to technology demonstrations and advice on in-school networking, attendees have the opportunity to join stadium tours of Franklin’s Gardens, including the Saints Study Centre.
Teachers will be able to find out how the Study Centre can provide local schools with educational support. All educational professionals that attend the symposium will receive complimentary tickets to the England versus Italy game the same evening.
Jonathan Hallatt, Netgear’s regional director, said: “As a leading networking technology provider to the education sector, Netgear has many years of experience helping schools make cost-effective and efficient use of technology in education.
“Ensuring education establishments are at the forefront of the evolving IT landscape is essential if pupils are to have the best learning experience possible. Netgear invites teachers to attend this event, to find out about the latest technology trends potentially impacting classrooms and to register for an on-site networking survey at no cost to check the school network infrastructure is ready to support this.”
Brian Facer, head of commercial operations at Northampton Saints, added: “This is an exciting time of year for rugby – the Six Nations is upon us and the countdown has started for the next Rugby World Cup.
“Together with Netgear’s support and this exciting event, we want to bring teachers, parents and children together through this great sport – and also the technology that sits behind it and makes it possible at a club such as ours.”
