Make your Bonfire night go with a bang this year by going to one of the many fireworks events being held across the district.
Market Harborough Rugby Club is putting on a display at its Northampton Road ground tomorrow (Friday). Gates open at 6.30pm and the fireworks start at 7.30pm.
Tickets, priced £15 for a family, £5 for adults or £3.50 for children aged 2 to 14 (under-2s go free), are available from the Kitchen Range Cookshop, in Church Street, Harborough or from www.mhrufc.co.uk.
A family bonfire and fireworks event is being organised by St Joseph’s School PTA at the school’s Coventry Road playing fields in Harborough on Saturday. Gates open at 6.30pm with tickets priced £5 for adults and £3 for children. Pre-schoolers go free.
Kibworth and Fleckney Rotary Club is also holding its event on Saturday on the field opposite New Road, on the A6.
Gates open at 5.30pm, the bonfire starts at 6.15pm and the fireworks will start at 6.45pm. Advance tickets, priced £13 for a family, or £5 for adults, £2.50 for children (under 5s go free) are available from Kibworth Post Office, Julian’s Hair Salon and the Coach and Horses pub.
The price on the gate is £6 for adults, £3 children and £15 for a family.
Wilbarston Village Hall and field will host a bonfire and fireworks to music night, also on the Saturday. Judging of pumpkin and guy competitions will take place at 6.30pm ahead of the bonfire and fireworks display at 7pm. Entry is free but donations are encouraged on the night.
The new leisure centre in Ironwood Avenue, Desborough, will host an event on Sunday, November 3. Gates open at 5pm for a 6.45pm display. It costs £4 for adults and £3 for children.
Great Oxendon will host a traditional bonfire party on Tuesday, November 5. The event, which boasts free entry, will feature fireworks, a large bonfire, a guy-making competition and live entertainment on an outdoor stage.
There will be games, a raffle, bar, a barbecue, sweets, and home-made soup by The George pub at Great Oxendon.
Also on the Tuesday, The Shoulder of Mutton pub in Foxton will host the 13th annual Foxton Fireworks.
The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and there will be Chinese food available. Entry costs £4 for adults and £2.50 for children.
Proceeds from the event will got to First Foxton Scouts, Gumley Cricket Club and Foxton Pre-School.
