Two music groups come together to mark summer
Market Harborough Choral Society will play alongside the Harborough Band for the summer concert the Carnival of the Animals.
The concert is being staged at the Market Harborough Methodist Church in Northampton Road starting at 7.30pm on Saturday June 25.

Hide AdThe musical mixture conjures up a menagerie of creatures with hints of humour, beauty and melodrama.
The list of animals includes hippos, lions and a veritable aviary of birds.
It also includes a number of well-known songs given a novel twist.
Pushing the bounds of the concert title, there are also two songs by The Beatles.

Hide AdThe finale of the concert is a rousing version of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus when the choir and band join forces.
Society chairman Neil Ryrie said: “We are very pleased to welcome the Harborough Band who will be sharing the platform with us.
“Few people can forget our last concert together which featured Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man.
“This concert, as the title suggests, is a carnival of colourful songs some bright and funny others not so.”

Hide AdThe church will be suitably decorated and themed refreshments will be available.
Tickets for the concert are £12 for adults, £12 for concessions and free for people under the age of 16.
