A supermarket in Harborough is searching for singers to help support a charity drive.

Sainsbury’s is nationally trying to donate £400m to charitable causes by 2020.

The town’s branch in St Mary’s Place, Harborough, is looking for groups to sing in store for an hour or two next Saturday and next Sunday.

Carol singing will be part of the store’s Christmas fundraising being held at Sainsbury’s stores across the UK.

Residents, professional choirs, singing families and friends, schools, community clubs and charities are all invited to take part in the Sing While You Shop event.

Harborough’s store manager Jim Lavin said: “Everyone is welcome to apply and we’re delighted to offer our customers the chance to help us spread the festivities in-store with some traditional Christmas classics.”

People wanting to take part should call Melanie Wisher on 01858 461724.
